And.. as a footnote, way back before my geese were even laying, I ordered three baby geese from the ag store here. Sort of forgot about it in the excitement of the laying and the hatching. They called and my babies will be here on the fifteenth. I asked if I could cancel and they said no, they were ordered and so they were really sorry, but I have to get them. Thats ok... that will make me15 baby geese... yikes.. add that to the 11 baby ducks I hatched 4 weeks ago... I am going to retire that incubator for this year.

Should I worry about this one?

One of my baby geese had a hind end just like that yesterday. It was gone by today. I assume it was the yolk that was absorbed but maybe not all the way????? not sure, just know that mine was fine today.

I don't know, but I hope it is OK.

We have 7 chicks in the bator now

One more almost out..and a few more pips. This out of 20 eggs.

Two of them chicks pipped, and started zipping, but now nothing, no movement or anything for almost 24hours. I am afraid they didn't make it.

My girls are in heaven

And all the neighborhood kids came over yesterday and we watched one hatch. My dd took a great video of it zipping out of its shell.

Congrats to everyone!! I love seeing all the pics...will post some when I have time. 6 of the 7 are solid black, I'm thinking those are the X's, BUT one is mottled and I am thinking that is a Mille...

It's moving around okay and resting as it should. Doesn't seem to be bothering it and for a while I thought it was the belly button. That's what I'm telling the kids for now. These are all Rhode Island Reds and our first hatch! We couldn't be more ecstatic and the kids are so happy.

I have one egg that pipped and started to zip but stopped. There's no movement from that egg and I'm afraid it didn't make it. The others were banging it around fairly hard before I remove the eldests from the bator and put them in their new digs. I'm giving the rest about 24 - 36 hours before I candle and see what's going on.

Thanks for all of the assist! This board rocks!

I'm fairly certain they are Rhode Island Reds. They were given to us to hatch by a guy who only has Reds or so he says.
