April Hatch Along

Just moved these into one hatcher.



My other hatcher has 20 chicken eggs and 10 turkey eggs.

Should be a thurs/fri hatch.

How many eggs do you have going now?

98 on lockdown.

110 turkey eggs staggered over next 3 weeks.

30 quail and 10 pheasant.

Have about 30 more quail 12 pheasant and 20 turkey eggs waiting. But collecting more daily.

Almost 250

Great!! I also like doing the 5 day differential between hatches - this last one was too tight for my comfort. Had to quickly whisk away the CLs, clean out all their shells and their liner, put a new liner in (so there wouldn't be a bunch of hatching goo from the previous batch) and then set them for hatching. I told myself, as my bator was open mid-lockdown and I was letting precious humidity escape, that it was as if the broody hen just got off her eggs (even on day 19!!), went to take a dust bath, get a little something to eat and take a gigantic poop, and the eggs are going to be just fine!

I have to admit I have 4 incubators....2 are the same - Brinseas. On this new hatch, I want the humidity higher than my house runs, so I just took the cover off of the hatch that just finished and put it on the base with the new set of eggs. It already had the humidity pump plugged in, I just had to drop the humidity to 45%. Now I just have to clean the base on the other incubator.

My kitten has struck again and has eaten the tubing for the humidity pump, so the water was happily leaking on to the table, So, I didn't need to move the cover over...

Come to think of it, I never got the tubing I ordered. I need to make another call to Stromgbergs....or whereever it was that I ordered the tubing.

Yes everyone, you guessed it. I started out with 16 eggs in my incubator, and now I am up to 30!

Because.......if you are gonna start up an incubator, may as well be FULL??? Right??LOL

I officially candles my BBS Batch today. So the Ameraucanas are doing splendidly! 13/14 are developing, 1 may be clear. I saw a few embryos moving. My excitement is growing along with them!
As for my Orps, they are 18 hours behind, I only saw 3 that are developing and 5 are questionable. Only one has an attached air cell and 3 are partially attached. I'm not very hopeful for them...

4 days until my quails are due to hatch....7 days until my chicks and too many days for my ducks...LOL!!! I NEED babies
