April Hatch Challenge....

Well dont feel bad. Out of the first 9 I put in the hatcher, I got 2.

Out of the second set of 9 I put in the hatcher, I got 1.

I've just set another batch of 9 in there last night which are due to start hatching tomorrow.

So right now I am at a 8.1% hatch rate.... LOL

My eggs under my broody began to hatch today. So far 5 out of 6 have hatched 1 is not due till tomorrow so I shall see tomorrow. I have 11 eggs in the incubator due on the 20th. I put in 19 lost 2 to blood rings. 2 just never developed and had 4 quitters. So I am left with 11. We shall see monday how many hatch.

I have pippage on the third set of eggs this month! Lets hope this one goes a little better than the last two!

I set 24 mutt eggs from my flock of BO hens and roo, Gold Sex Link, Barred Rock Roo and two mystery chickens. 2 were infertile. So far I have four that I am not sure about and 18 that look good as far as air pocket and growth. THree of the four questionables have good sized air things, but looked a little small in the egg to me but who knows. I only took out the infertile ones. This is my first hatch so wish me luck. They are due on the 18th so hopefully some signs of hatching soon.

Under my broody out of 7 i got 5 little babies! The other 2 were fully developed just never piped.

When I left this evening for work I had pippage on two eggs!!! Hopefully when I get off at 6am, and get home I'll have more!

So far, it looks like the fan I had in there may have been the culprit of the last two bad hatches, but I'm not putting all my eggs in one basket just yet.

Just hatched out 9/12 call duck eggs.

I moved my chicken eggs to the hatcher. I have 7 due this friday. 2 oegb and 5 buff silkies.

I hatched 4/4 runner ducks and 3/3 American buff geese.

100% hatch!
