April Hatch Challenge....

We have our own eggs from white appleyards ducks and Ancona ducks. The first set we put in the bator was two, and both hatched. (yesterday and today!) The next set is dut to hatch next week, and 7 of them that we put in are fertile/developing! We'll see how many hatch!!

Oh, and we have a duck setting on 9? or so. They are due to hatch in 3 wks.

I have a pip!!! My Silkies are on day 19-day 20 doesn't start until this afternoon. This morning, one of the eggs is pipped. I have heard that bantys often hatch early, is that true? Or do I need to adjust temp next time?

My buff silkies are due tomorrow. I have a pip, but it is on the bottom of the egg.

I have a turkey poult flopping about the homemade hatcher. Yay. Several more chicks to follow, turkeys tomorrow and the next day.

One victory from this miserable rescue is enough but I'd like more.

Out of the 13, 10 showed signs of growth. At this point I have 6 hatched. Today is day 22 so I'll leave the rest for another day or so.

I didn't do to bad on my first hatch about 60%. set 41,8 were clear 20 hatched and 13 didn't do anything . they are in the brooder now. I set the second set of 34 eggs last night They are just eggs from our chickens, australope, cochins, orpingtons and ameracuanas. Hope this one is as good as the first. I had a friend set 18 for me she hatched out 7. Then she set 25 more for me but they haven't begun to hatch yet. Don't hold out much hope for them .
