4 Silkies hatched so far...more to go and Barnevelders due to hatch Friday!

I had 11 Belgian Bearded D'anvers hatch today! It's only day 20. And monday I had 2 LF Golden Laced Cochins hatch. Due on Saturday are 2 more!! Happy Hatching!

Awww, love all the cute chick-pics! I thought my broodyhens eggs were due yesterday, but apparently they were not. Anyhow, the temp is below freezing outside, but when I checked on the broodies they were both staying foot on their eggs. I reached my hand and picked one up - it wasn't externally pipped, but I could here it chirping in there and pecking at the shell with it's little eggtooth, so I guess they're right around the corner now.

And they're hatching! As I liftet my broodyhen I got to see a pretty big hole in one of the eggs. I'm so glad I have BYC to pour all my excitement over, my FB friends truly don't understand lol!

Back from the care review - thought I would "miss something?" Hoped I would find something in the bator - Yeah there was something there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 4 darn eggs! not a single twitch from anything! Well at least I haven;t missed it!

Ain't that the truth! My FB friends pretty much completely ignore my chicken posts. At first they asked if I had turned farmer (I am a professional real estate agent and they view me as wearing skirts and 4 inch platform heels with pretty nails.) I do have to admit I have done away with the pretty nails after hanging with my chickens for 6 months!

Day 21

Well, at least you didn't miss a single thing! If it makes you feel any better, my eggs have not moved a muscle either. Not due til tomorrow or Saturday, but last hatch started early. was hoping for a few pips or chirps this morning, but nothing yet.

So eggcited!!! Started hearing peeps last night before bed. This morning have 2 pips... Hope everything goes well. Only have 7 little eggs in there. My husband is enjoying my antics. I go in and hover over the 'bator and make 'peeping' noises, hoping to stir them up a little bit. He said "I haven't seen you this excited over something in a long time!"
