The Brinsea turns the eggs much faster than the one in my Genesis. The Genesis shakes with vibration and is not smooth though.

Okay, I'm glad to see it's not just mine. I mean, you can actually hear it clanking and turning. I can't believe for the amount of money they charge for this junk, the roughness of it all. Turners that jar the eggs, styro bators that can't keep a consistent temp in a temp controlled room, etc.

I've gone to my coolerbator for this next batch. Just set 6 bantam phoenix, 12 BLRW, and 6 Ameraucanas in it last night. Temp swing is only .2 degree, way better than the styrofoam dinosaur.

Well, it looks like the multi quote won't work on my iPad today.

As far as turning shipped eggs, I think I read it here at BYC that it is best NOT to turn shipped eggs the first 4-7 days. I have the Farm innovators incubator, so I was planning to place the eggs in it at a lesser angle and then not plug it in. I figured I would plug it in when I candle on day 7.

I have a classroom hatching my mutts in the same brand of incubator and they are set to hatch next week.

AND I love the pictures of the babies. I love spring!

well my broody hen with my 5 goose eggs, decided to sit on the wrong nest after her morning meal today!

she was probably off them for 4-5 hours... I guess I will need to check on her sooner in the future!

My eggs will be shipped on Monday or Tuesday. I didn't know about the 7 day no turning rule for my first batch of shipped eggs. I will definitely try that this time! Great advice.

What does everyone keep their humidity at? I'll be using the 1588 Genesis hova-bator with fan and auto turner.

Love this thread it's a wealth of knowledge!!

I have a question though. I'm just starting day 3 for my 3 duck eggs and I tried candling them because I am extremely impatient haha. So when I was candling I noticed 2 of the yolks don't move around when I turn the egg, but the third one moves to wherever I turn the egg. Is this bad?

Funny I was wondering this only cause mine always turn slowly with the turn. If that makes sence. But I have one that wouldn't move for ages. And eventually it did. But I would say turning is a good thing otherwise it would stick. Hence why we turn our eggs! But I'm sure someone more knowledgeable will come answer this theory.
