April Hatch Thread--Come Join Us!

Thanks MissBroodyHen the video helped a lot.
Oh I'm glad! I'm going to add a few more. I'm just uploading one that I opened up from a shipped egg that died at 7 days. It had blood ring and it had a hairline crack in it.
Here it is.
It's a bit morbid (literally) to look at but it's good to see what thinks look like at different stages. I've also popped a description attached to the video so that there is a good understanding as to what has happened here.

Well tonight starts day 18 for my 31 eggs. I am going to take them out of the turner and put them on lock down tonight!!!! I so hope they all hatch! I have had a few temp spikes but can still see movement in some, some are harder to tell especially considering that they are all black except for the air sac. Some make hatch early with me having temp spikes!

Hatch day is April 11th.
The eggs that my banty are sitting on are looking good to. Hatchday for them is the 18th. Should I brood the ones from my incubator in another room until my banty hatches hers out? Will the chirping from them mess her up and make her get off the eggs?

Day 19. I honestly cannot tell as of last night..if ANY of them are good.
I saw lots of bad air cells. Hard to see into the blue egg. Esp the porous ones.
I saw one I hold out some hope for.
Maybe I am just too panicky over this batch???

Good luck to everyone whose eggs are hatching or very close to hatching!!!!

I turned the incubator on last night! I am SO excited to get my eggs this week. They should be shipping either today or tomorrow. I'm pretty sure I'll be trying a dry incubation this time around. Has anyone else used a Genesis 1588 hova-bator with this method?

That's what I've done, and it's worked out well. All the eggs have been within the weight loss target I was shooting for, at each weigh-in. I ran the incubator for a week beforehand and figured out exactly how much water would give me the humidity range I wanted, and for how long. 30mls water each evening in trough 1 gave me approximately 28-30% humidity that would drop down to about 18-19% the next evening when it was time for a refill.

Definitely tinker around before you put eggs in there.

Thanks! Since last night, I've been running at around 16-19% without water (depending on what hydrometer I look at) Is there a chart that shows you what the eggs should weigh by certain days of incubation? I know they should lose 12-14% of their starting weight by lockdown but what about by day 7, day 14, etc? So you know you're on track
