It's hard to tell how bad the temperature spike affected the eggs, but it looks like the one grocery store experiment egg that was developing might be dead now. The other eggs in the hatching set have an aweful lot of clears for Day 4, but it looks like the spike wasn't bad enough to wipe them all out.

Right now there are 9/24 hatching eggs in incubator #2 showing veining.

#1 is fast approaching Day 14 (friday) but I think it is down to 13/26 left as viable. Still holding out hope for one brown shell, but it hasn't darkened up nearly as much as the other, plus hasn't changed in a few days from what I can tell.

Storms had me up most of the night worrying about losing power. I need to get a computer backup power battery and hook my incu's into that at some point.

I have 4 pips and heard chirping!!!! This is day 20 for me and hopefully I will have lots of chicks running around before the day is out!!!!! I am so excited!!!!!!!!

I put 17 eggs in the incubator starting on March 18 - 22. So far I have 6 hatched and 2 quitters:( I definitely have some learning to do...I'd like to have a chicken incubate the eggs for future.
