The only thing you can do is go with what you have for now and see if anything hatches. If nothing does put it down to experience and try again! DOn;t get tooo upset or disapointed it happens to us all.

And look at the bright side - The MAY hatch along has started!!!!!!

I might end up trying again too - so don;t be too upset.

Hello Everyone!!

This is my second time hatching chickens. My first time was in February and only 1 chick didn't make it out of 8. I have Silkies and wyandotte hens and an australorp roo. In my bator I have 7 eggs and one of my silkie is sitting on 9 eggs... hee hee, I don't know how she can fit all of them under her but she does.

hi all...
need some help... well kinda a lot of help.
I am on my very first batch of bantam chick,,, I had 4 beige & 4 blue, all were doing very well.. well up until last night..
We had a temp spike of 120 just after id put them into lockdown.... i am soooo gutted!
The temp spike lasted around an hour before i checked it,,,, I have candled them today... I know i should'nt have done so really but I had to. I can only see movement in 2 eggs.......is it time to cry?
roxy
Please don't break out the Kleenex yet..............I did not see movement for three days before they hatched.thought they
were toast and they were on day 23..... 7 out of 11 hatched....good Luck

Well, it is day 22 and still no activity. No rocking or rolling, pipping or cheeping. I am going to wait a few more days then do the float test. I have had a hard time keeping humidity up. Temps have been steady but humidity has been erratic since lockdown anywhere from 55% to 85%. First hatch and I hope I haven't killed them all.

I would go ahead and candle them quickly to look for any signs of life. Look for internal pipping, movement, response to tapping, or veining. If you see none of these things then they are quitters.
