Well let the fun begin! My 8 yr old wanted me to help him with egg collecting yesterday.. I thought nothing of it... not even when he asked me to check the doghouse in the garage (the girls favorite spot to lay, even though theres 5 nesting boxes in the coop) He said there's about a dozen eggs out there mom I need help! So out we went, I opened the top of the dog house, and Pricilla, my barred Rock Hen, started fussing and growling at me! (hates to be bothered when laying) I about came out of my skin! I didn't expect Miss Grumpy Butt to be in there! Kam about wet himself he was laughing so hard! Thats ok though! I got his number! And a few days to plan!

Kids.. gotta love 'em!! I need to start planning what to do to my four little ones on the 1st. Anyone got any great "fools day" ideas?

I think this one's kinda mean, but a friend of mine scared her kids by putting one of those raccoon hats under the bed with the tail part sticking out. They live a very rural area, so it wouldn't be difficult to imagine a coon in the house.

use butter colored playdough to make fake butter.

Well, ducklings or poults under a hen, or maybe a baby rabbit or goat; if he's old enough to cook, ask him to scramble the eggs, and put hard boiled eggs out for him to use; sugar in the salt shaker and vice versa; switch the contents of sibling backpacks--just have them put something in their pack early enough that they can switch back. Shortsheet their beds; send a note to the teacher with some silly daitribe about the curriculum (you need to make sure that the teacher won't really get mad)--this happened in my son's 2nd grade class. They had just dissected a LEAF, and one mom sent in a letter that sounded very real castigating hte teacher for her insensitivity to the mores of those who view all life as sacred, both plant and animal. She went on and on for a couple of pages, then at the every end, which just happened to be a new page, she signed off with "have a nice April 1st!"
