Apron/ saddle questions

This is my 2nd year with chickens first big molt. After mating season I hand some bare backed girls. So I decided I'd try saddles this next season and have been making them. Question 1: is it worth is? Question 2: isn't it going to rub under their wings? Question 3: how the heck to you get them to hold still long enough to get it on?
I get that there will be an adjustment period for them to get used to having it on but the one hen I did get one on was NOT happy

I've put saddles on my rooster's favorites before if they need it and they get used to it within a few minutes.

What's your rooster to hen ratio?

Not enough hens lol I'm working on fixing that new pulleys should arrive this week.
