i got some easter egg laying birds, some from my feed store and some from hatcheries. i'm not sure if they are araucanas, ameraucanas, or just easter eggers.
does anyone see any destict charactoristics that would define them as a certain breed? if you do, please post them and what you think my birds are.

this is tiger, my old girl. she was my first and last easter egg layer before i got my next batch. she's about 6 or 7. shes even turning grey at the tip of her tail and a little at the face as you can see.

this is dakota.
this is buck. hes my rooster. i think he and nickle are dating. nickle is below.

this is nickle. she's my blue hen. loves to play with my strings.

i dont have any questions on these guys but i thought they deserved some attention.

this is duo, my mottled houdan hen.

this is speck. she's a silver sebret hen.

this is alfa,my butt-head mottled houdan rooster. i feal kinda bad for him though. due to an injury, he has a bad foot and bad wings.

this is nip(turkey) and alfa(houdan rooster)

these are my ducks, front: naloo, light grey: torpedo, dark grey: spinner, behind torpedo: nacho chip(chip), behind spinner: ice-cube, next to ice-cube: squid, behind squid: nemo. yes i can tell them all apart.

Your colored egg layers are all easter eggers, although I'm sure they were sold as a specific breed. You have a nice color variety, I love the blue especially.

I agree with Hdowden. They are beautiful EE hens (except for Buck). Believe me, if you had Ameraucana or Araucana birds, you'd know it because you would have spent a lot of time hunting down a breeder. Hatcheries find it much more profitable to mislable mixed breed chickens than to pay to obtain real stock in those two breeds.

There's nothing wrong with EEs (I find them delightful) but it irks me how many first-time owners are lied to by hatcheries.
