Has anyone else seen the $50,000 episode of Chopped where the contestants have to cook with "Araucana" eggs? The show never does explain what Araucanas are, even though the contestants mutter to themselves, "What kind of eggs are these?" Then, when they show the eggs, there are green, blue, and brown ones in the basket. Obviously, they came from Easter Eggers.

I don't expect most people to know the difference in Araucanas and EE's, but why didn't they even try to explain what kind of eggs they were?

Yes. They start with 3 contestants and eliminate one with each round. They always have strange food combos to work with.

I should have said, the eggs were part of the desert round which also included vinegar potato chips. Strange COMBOS. Sorry, I guess I'm sensitive today.

Not all the ingredients are strange actually a lot of them are "normal" but its the combination they give that can be strange. For example they will give them hotdogs chocolate and lettuce and tell them they have to make a dessert.

I didn't say the eggs were strange. Honestly, I don't know why I post on here. Folks never understand what I mean.

I think she was kidding.
