Oh dear God I hope they don’t go broody. I had to break each of my 3 rescue Bantam hens already. I just don’t have the room for more chickens sadly.I'm surprised your pullets haven't gone broody yet. Araucanas are such a broody breed.

...and if that is the case, I guess it's best I don't hatch eggs fathered by him. But gosh darn it he's so sweet and handsome!

I'd rather them hatch and raise the chicks than me!
I have tried that and it didn't make a difference.would trimming hens around the vent help? your hens might fix that defect. breeding is a hard work and take years.
Because I am stubborn, I will try a different Araucana hen with Cholo in the future. The hens Cholo is in with now are Easter Eggers and hatchery layers. Their body shapes are so different I could see why he wouldn't be able to successfully mate them. Also, all but the two EEs are bigger than him.
Bluebell was only with him for the last 3-4 hours of the day for almost 2 weeks. I guess realistically it could have taken longer for fertilization to show itself. Especially since the layers are so mean, I could see them beating Cholo off of her like they did to the EEs when I introduced them.
I no longer have the hen.can you cage them for a few days?
