That sucks. I really thought the chick was tufted.The new chick is not tufted.
Talk about crappy beginner's luck. Only one of the 12 chicks I have hatched this year is tufted. At least one parent of all the chicks were tufted.
If he has good type and coloring then breed him to a hen with a tight pea comb to clean his up.I'm confident the tufted chick is a cockerel. Unfortunately he has Manolito's comb. He's not quite 4 weeks old and already has 3 rows of peas!
