Araucana thread anyone?

Thank you. I am thrilled at how well they are doing. Right now I have her and babies in my green house in a cold frame to seperate her from my duck and turkey that lives in there and comes and goes at will during the day. Right now I could make a turducken with what lives in my green house.LOL!

I sold my white tufted roo. He is such a nice roo and I am happy to see him go to someone who will enjoy him. I sold him thru Ann of Sky Blue Eggs Website. It was so easy and I had over 90 people look at him according to the hit counter ( yes I know it was probably alot of people looking more than once, myself included) but I am happy with the exposure. There are other birds for sale there also and I will definately be posting more birds there.

With eggbid down it would be nice to have 1 place to go to and find araucanas for sale, and not have to wade thru other breeds of birds, course she will let other breeds post there but her website is mainly araucana's.

As always I will have birds for sale on my website also. If you don't know where Anns Website is you can go to mine and click on the links page and look for Sky Blue Eggs link.

I put some new pics of birds on my website too, mostly the babies that were just hatched.

I saw the sweetest video on Youtube when I was searching for araucana videos. I was a short story about a silkie mom. I cant think of the name of it but it had to do with a mothers love. I almost cried it was so sweet. If anyone else knows what I am talking about you should post the link. I think others will like it.

Yes she offered her site several months ago for people to post their birds there. I had been kicking it around and watching her auctions. I saw how well hers did and decided to list one of mine. It costs 3% if the bird sells but free if it doesn't.

I am shipping him, plus the buyer is considering a couple of my blue pullets. One is tufted and one is clean faced. I have a tufted spash roo and two clean faced splash pullets I am considering putting on her website. I will make a decision in the next couple of weeks.

The sales part is cool too! I just got home today from the Nationals in Shawnee and I got to meet and talk with Ann. She is so cool, I'll have to consider her website for selling too and I'm hoping I'll have some nice chicks soon. I also got to meet and talk with Joyce and Fritz Ludwig too, they were all hard at work to promote our breed and to keep the members informed on the show. I am very impressed and motivated even more now to work to have some birds worthy of showing.

Congratulation on the new bunch !!!
Terrific photo ... I'm hoping to someday find some Araucana eggs/chicks to start my own flock, I definitely like this bred.

Clint,

Welcome to BYC and the wonderful world of Araucana's. There are more breeders on your side of the U.S. than my side so you should have no problem finding chicks or eggs. There are several people here on BYC that have chicks and eggs they ship also.

The araucana is a facinating breed. The males do a wonderful mateing dance and are very gentleman like. The females have wonderfully soft little voices and tend to be fairly nosey.

You will love them.

Hello Lanae,
Thanks for the warm welcome

Right now we are finishing up the initial construction of our coop before the snow flies, but will be searching for eggs or chicks very shortly. Lots too learn ...!!!
