Here are my 2 latest chicks, at a couple days old.
Anyone here that can sex the black one by the yellow markings? There isn't a spot on the top of the head or back of the neck so I think I remember seeing that meant pullet? Anyone want to guess?

This chick is a chocolate color, I'm wondering if it's a pullet and will be that dark red/brown color like the dark hen I just got. The eggs were from the new hens.

Go to the Araucana Club website and join the forum. There is at least a couple breeders in your state. Not much help but a couple times a year we go through Kentucky on our way to see our grandkids. Our son's in the Navy and they live on base in Maryland. Kentucky is a big ole state though so it might be just as easy for you to buy and pay for shipping from where ever you want than to drive the distance to meet someone in your state with the gas prices.

Gosh, Illia, that splash rooster of yours on the bid site is caaaaaaalllllllling to me; too bad I spent all of my money on the incubator. I would bid on that boy in a heart beat if I had anything to bid!

Spent a snowy, windy evening trying to drag bantam Araucanas down from the tree tops to get them into their breeding pens. Managed to get three of the girls down. By golly can they shreek like banshees!! Wild little darlings. I am so ready to get that gorgeous bantam rooster making tufted chicks!!! Last year was a fertility disaster, so fingers crossed that this new fellow has got what it takes.
