Araucana thread anyone?

Oh Pokey,

I am really sorry for your loss. I could never get my EE mix's to be rumpless. I so wanted bearded rumpless birds running around. Almost as cute as tufted and rumpless.

this is crazy but I thought about switching my Yokohama roo and putting him over my tailless araucana, and the araucana roo over the yoko hens. If I got tailless offspring breed together to lengthen the hackle and saddle feathers only. Now I know it would totally screw up egg color, but it just one of my crazy experiments.the roo pictured is still in blood feather meaning his tail is still growing.

Here is one of my second generation birds in my efforts to get rumpless, tufted, bearded, muffed, crested, blue layers.

This is Meep Meep. She has a tail which you can't see, but this year I have her with a rumpless roo. Once I get rid of the tail I will go for tufts.

I suspect the e-bay seller did get some nasty flack after the interactions between you and she was posted here on BYC - I don't have a doubt in my mind that other Araucana and Ameraucana breeders swept in to "set her to right." You may have been careful and concerned about what and how you informed her, but I know FROM EXPERIENCE that there are many who participate in this forum who will lay into a breeder with little to no care. At this point, she is responding to more than just Lane's shared comments.

your age has nothing to do with it. but thanks for the exchange. you're lovely and i totally want to be bffs. call me every five minutes.

and, btw, it's "too", not "to" as in 'too old'.
