Araucana thread anyone?

Illia,

My heart stuttered when I saw the pic of you silver duckwing hen. I didn't even look at the others. I hope mine turn out like her. I don't even care that yours doesn't have tufts. She is beautiful.

Here is the pic of my other roo I keep forgetting I have that I think you mean. I have him running free range and forget about him because he is so well mannered.

Yep that's him!!

See. my boy looks just like yours, except he's tufted and has a lot more yellow on him. Do you think that weird spangling will pass on? Has he had any offspring yet?

Ironic. . . Mine of that color, too, is the only free ranging male right now. He's doing well too, except now he feels the need to fly into the Tolbunt Polish area and mate with my polish.

I don't have any chicks from him. I am not sure who to put him in with. I only have adult splash and blue hens. Maybe when I get more duckwings I can put a few girls with him. For now though I don't have anything in mind. Especially since he is not tufted.

How old is he? I swear he's the brother to mine. Didn't you say you got him from Gary Ramey? He looks to be of the exact same breeding, as even his face and comb/wattles are the same. I have some varying "lemon blues" but him and my bluest laying pullet seem to be of the same parentage.

I have a clean faced tailed, what must be lemon blue pullet. She is blue and has yellow orange on her breast. Not a lot, but some.

I have a cuckoo chick from my splash pen. It is tufted. My splash roo looks just like the one you are calling lemon blue splash. I do like the lemon blue coloring almost as much as duckwing.

Here is a pick of my triple tufted blue roo.

Yes, I got him from Gary. He is about 9 months old. I like the color on yours better. Course the tufts don't hurt either.

Triple tufted? Oh I gotta see this. . . Could you point out to me where the tufts are in that pic?

I'll post a picture of my blue cuckoo. . . He's tufted and has a blue cuckoo pullet to pair with, so together I'm waiting for them to produce a normal barred bird, then see about crossing it to a golden duckwing to create a Crele Araucana.

It is hard to see the tufts on his head because a couple of the girls in his pen have tuft envy and pecked his. But you cant miss the tuft on his chest.
