That color is duckwing, and while there is technically no golden duckwing hens genetically, phenotypically it would be a golden duckwing. The mom is a duckwing with extra melanizers and autosomal red which shows in the really dark chest.Good. What color would you call it? I have two that color. Two that are barred and one that is muted gray, blue, that sure what I would call it.
A silver duckwing and two black breasted reds.I have 3 araucana chicks two are brown chipmunk looking are tufted and rumpless, the one white/and black is rumpless but not tufted.
Here are a couple of pics
This is Valasa, she is rumpless but not tufted. Is she silver duckwing?
This is the lighter of the two brown chipmunks. She is tufted and rumpless, can you tell yet what color she it?
I can't find a recent pic of the darker one it is harder to get a pic of much more camera shy. It is getting some pretty bright colored feathers that are starting to worry me. It is also double tufted and rumpless, but her tufts look lop sided right now b/c someone was to jealous of her "jewelery".
Not offended, just throwing my two cents in. I prefer the larger pics especially with the araucana, it is easier to see the fine details such as tufts, saddle and hackle feathers and other details that can be lost with smaller pics. I know it can be harder for people with slower internet to load them and that is a valid concern. The above pics are showing up perfectly on my computer however I have seen some huge ones that even bog down my computer to load.I would like to let people know about posting pictures that you can resize them. I have noticed that when pics are posted they show up very large and very elongated. This can be changed when posting and even thru the edit feature. If anyone is interested as to know, just click on the image and it will become highlighted. I like to click on the corner so that I can shorter and make them narrower at the same time. I own my own graphics company so I know how hard it is to really see a pic clearly when its too large for the viewing area and too wide or too long. I hope no one is offended that I brought this up.
