Araucana thread anyone?

I am interested in the whites but can you post a pic of their legs and possibly the color of the egg?
Of the 2 white pullets, only one is laying so far, the other will follow soon, All my whites laid the nicest blue eggs and the pullet laying does too. There are already 4 bids so I can't take them off the auction now.

Here are some of my most recent chicks hatched

A double tufted Mauve pullet chick (blue and chocolate together)

Another chocolate pullet

This one is interesting, probably Mauve but not sure why it's so much darker than the other Mauve chicks

Do you have a picture of what a mauve chicken w/ feathers (not chick fluff) looks like???? Never heard of a mauve chicken.
Kassaundra,
There aren't very many (in the world). Mauve is the color blue with chocolate on a black base. A breeder in France (not Araucana's) told me she has had a very difficult time hatching this color but she has some

It will be interesting to see how mine finish out. The name of this color is listed on the kippenjungle sites. It's listed as blue plus dun at the bottom but mine are chocolate and blue.

I had a terrible time finding photo's of Mauves and I haven't seen a rooster yet. This color is extremely rare
Another rare, and recently named color is Beige. I may try that too.

Interesting, I don't see "mauve" but the color is pretty, it probably reads better in person, the camera and computer monitor can play tricks w/ colors. Good luck w/ yours.

Mauve is very pretty!

I am now araucana-less :( Our 3 we hatched from eggs this spring turned out to be 2 cockerels and a pullet, all smooth faced rumpless so we sold them to a friend who loves the "little rumpless biddy's". We went to a show in Salem this weekend hoping to find a tufted rooster but didn't have any luck. I know many of you have gorgeous roosters for sale but I can't imagine paying shipping. We've been shipping out sumatras and the shipping is just insane. If anyone knows of any tufted roosters in Washington/Idaho/Montana, let me know. Color doesn't really matter since we will be using it for a breeding project, red or gold would be great but any color could be used. Tailed would be nice but we could work with it.

I'm not sure I'll be as impressed with Mauve but I love the chocolates. We'll see how they mature. One thing for sure is that they are all pullets and the Mauves are chocolate even if they are also blue so I can breed them to my black Araucana rooster for 100% chocolate carrier cockerels.
