Araucana thread anyone?

I went to the poultry show today in BirchRun, mi and someone had 2 roos ad 2 partridge hens for sale. What color would be good to breed to the partridge hens if I got them. He would only sell 1 hen with a roo or all 4 together. I'm not interested in the roos.

Depends on if they are truly partridge or not. Partridge is not a, shall we say, natural color for the araucana, so either they are not partridge or they are a mix somewhere in their gene pool.

Either way I would breed them with duckwing, you will get splits but wild type is dominant to partridge I believe. Keep track of chick down and only keep the ones that look like wild type chick down and go from there.

Does anybody else have the same pic showing up? I posted all different pics, but just two are showing. If you click on the photos, you can see what they should be, but what shows up on the thread is of Creamsickle over and over.

Strange.

I'll try an edit it.

A pic today from my little araucana boy, guess at 4 weeks I'm going to have to face the fact he is rumpless but not tufted. This is the one I hatched not Ari, it is the one I was calling Ara when I still had hope he was a she. I'm not going to get to attatched b/c I can't keep both Ari and this one.

I posted a couple of white pullets and a couple of other color cockerels on showbirdauction.com if anyone wants to make an offer, I can take them off the auction if no bids are placed. PM me if interested. I also love swapping

I am interested in the whites but can you post a pic of their legs and possibly the color of the egg?
