Araucana thread anyone?

Buck is the only one that is truly clean faced. As I mentioned in the beginning of my post, the flock is going through a phase of picking out tufts, which is a common occurrence. Manolito and Double Tufts look clean faced because their tufts have been picked out by flock members. In the second pic of Mano you can see his swollen peduncle on the right side of his face from the constant picking.

I just got my FIRST EVER Araucana egg! "Mama", mother of the chicks I purchased from Nancy Utterback, blessed me with this pretty blue egg on this record setting coldest day in January!

I have sad news. silkie that was sitting on 3 araucana eggs got up. I cracked 1 egg and there was an embryo but in a puss-like staff. I guess it died and started to rot. the other thing I noticed is that the air cell was too small. I think that the eggs that are hatching have bigger air cell. hen who laid those eggs died without any symptoms. obviously she had some health issue.

the good news is I already have ordered chicks (a trio). in about a month I might get them. they call them brown but I think they are wheaten.

Awesome! Please post pictures when you get them. Do you have any other Araucana hens now?
