Araucana thread anyone?

I got a few more pics of my new pullets this morning. Still not the greatest pics as they are still pretty skittish and kept moving away from me. They didn't come out of their coop until yesterday evening, and that's only because I booted them out! I had to clean their coop and they showed no interest of going out on their own. They came out on their own this morning, though.

I just love their color. Always been a fan of blue. The one on the left has really neat black edging on her feathers, and the one on the right has a more contrasting neck/body color. The one on the right was supposed to be clean faced, but she DID have a small left sided tuft. I've seen the other pullet pick out her neck feathers so I assumed she got the tuft as well. The one on the left has two very small tufts. From the back I can see the one on the left swoops upward, and the tuft on the right swoops downward. Kind of funny looking!

I love blue chickens too! :love

Well my pullets will be 15 weeks old this Tuesday and they are outside at the moment as it’s 40F. Unfortunately the temperature is going to drop to the teens at night for the next week so I’m bringing them back inside this evening.
This weather has been crazy! As if winter isn't hard enough for chicken-keeping, this winter has been by far the worst!

Well, Bad news.... I came home from work yesterday and went out to the coop to get eggs, as I usually do. I had left over salad mix that I new nobody was going to eat, so I brought it down, threw it down for the ladies and proceeded to get eggs. In the back of my mind something wasn't right... I didn't hear a specific crooning noise. It took me a little bit to realize I only had two all white chickens: My light brahma and my little araucana pullet. Napoleon was missing.... Is missing. No body, no feathers, no blood... I think somebody may have stolen my rooster!!! I don't think he slipped out of the run (unfortunately my son didn't close it all the way) because he's the only one missing and he would have stuck near his ladies.
Shitty thing is, I've never gotten any complaints from neighbors about his crowing, which he only did in the morning for maybe half an hour... UGH. I'm really upset about this!!!

OH NO! I am so, so sorry to hear that! :( So the run was left open? Don't give up hope - I've heard of missing chickens returning. Listen for his crow in case someone close did take him. I am just sick for you and this situation.:hugs Wishing you the best of luck for his safe return.

The door to the run was closed, just not latched. I should have been more specific. My breeder has offered the use of her bater to see if he's mated with my pullet. I'll have to do her eggs and her EE sister's eggs (from the same breeder) since I can't tell which is which...
