@Frazzemrat1 are your neighbors close? Maybe talk to them to see if they saw or heard anything unusual? Even if they don't 'fess up maybe you'll at least get a vibe if they were anti-rooster. I would have a hard time letting this go. My heart breaks for you.![]()
I do have neighbor's that are close, which is why I said I've had no complaints about his crowing (which is only a morning thing). I honestly don't know my neighbors. I've only ever heard the one closest to my coop, screaming at his son in their shop. I'm not really inclined to go over there.
I don't want to let this go, and really and truly hope I'm wrong and that he's just somehow gotten out and he's around somewhere, and has survived the temps we've had by himself and miraculously comes home without a scratch. It could happen. It won't... but...
He's been the sweetest to the girls, so tolerant of my dog trying to eat what they eat, my daughter holding the ladies... Not one human or canine aggressive move at all, and I feel like I'm never gonna get that good again.
