Araucana thread anyone?

I've been seeing a lot of posts about broody hens lately... I WANT ONE!!! Why can't you get a broody when you need one? I did buy a bunch of fake eggs last week to put in the nests, hoping to maybe trigger someone to go broody.
Still waiting on the shipped eggs by the way.

I actually put the Araucanas in the main henhouse tonight. Hopefully they will be good tomorrow morning.

Anyone know how size of offspring works when crossing bantam to large fowl? I'm considering hatching some of Lil Girl's eggs (she's the bantam). She is in with Manolito (LF). There is a considerable size difference, but he is fertilizing her eggs and doesn't seem to be hurting her. I'm wondering if I could breed up from the offspring, eventually breeding out the bantam? Or would the size of her egg keep the chick small?

I would set some eggs and see how the offspring look.
