Araucana thread anyone?

Can you still get the purebred trio? Even though it will be more money it will be worth it! Araucana genetics are tricky enough without having other breeds involved. If you mix the half breeds with the true Araucanas you would be setting yourself back many years in terms of breeding out tails, improper skin color, straight combs, etc.
I can still get the purebred trio. That's what I plan to do if they look good enough. Not sure I really even want a roo. My husband may or may not kill me though if I do this or make me get rid of as many as I bring in.

For what its worth, I have never had, seen or heard of an aggressive Araucana cock or cockerel. They are (IMO) the gentlest breed for males. @Frazzemrat1 can attest to that.
Completely agree. I bought my first rooster and he was an araucana. I watched him closely when I first got him; around my kids and my dog. My daughter likes to struggle snuggle each of the hens, and while at first he would watch her closely and complain verbally about it, he soon realized that no harm was coming to the girls and they didn't complain. So he tolerated it. He never behaved aggressively to the humans or my dog.

Just got these pics from my boyfriend, whom I asked to look in on the chickens today. This is Blue Boy. :loveI LOVE him!" :love
