Araucana thread anyone?

I'm not sure! I'll let you be the judge of that...

When I got her I thought she was rumpless: Two photos (click to enlarge)

It's very tricky to get photos of her because she comes right up to me when I try to take pictures! I tried to take some for @Brahma Chicken5000 the other day and wasn't very successful and I went down earlier to try again.

This is the best I could do: Six photos (click for larger image)

What do you reckon?
Tailed. See the tail feathers? On a rumpless bird, Theresa no tail feathers at all, the back ends with the rump saddle feathers. If you were to feel, you wont feel a tail bone at all.

She'd be considered "partially tailed". Looks like she should be rumpless but a recessive tailed gene popped up. They use the term "partially" tailed when there are just a few downward pointing feathers. Tailed would be the full fan shaped tail like other breeds have.

Thank you! @Trish1974 & @Frazzemrat1

I forgot to mention in my post that I noticed those tail feathers more recently, hence my doubts and including photos of when I got her, as well as the current ones.

The website where I ordered her from showed photos of birds with no tail feathers. They don't breed the chickens themselves; they are middlemen.

P.S. I have no idea what the SOP is in France.

Her parents were probably rumpless. Every now and then two recessive genes meet up and the offspring will be partially tailed. It seems to happen to even the most experienced breeders.
I'm hoping I lucked out on that since I bought an established flock from a show breeder that's been breeding Araucanas since the 1990s. I hope I didn't just jinx myself

Ah, I see. Thank you for taking the trouble to explain that!

Wishing that your flock produce the perfect rumpless chicks! I look forward to seeing more of them as I follow this thread.

@Brahma Chicken5000 I know you won't be back on until tonight, but I wanted to get these pics posted while I had a chance. You were asking about the mottling on the 2 chicks... I tried to get some pics. I didn't have Mano at this age so I'm not sure if he had this much mottling at 3 weeks old or not.
