Araucana thread anyone?

Here's Sera... She's getting big! I can't wait to see if she lays true blue eggs, unlike little Ahsoka... she lays slightly green eggs.

Since the attack, my poor dark brahma hasn't laid. She laid the first day, an egg that was already in the pipeline, but she hasn't since. Eats fine, acts the same, but otherwise, not laying. I think she's still stressed.

Updated pics of our two 4-week old Aracauna mixes.

This is Sully, the Norwegian Jaerhon/Aracauna mix. Definitely a roo as he's been crowing since he was 2 weeks old. He will need to find a loving home, as his breeds make him too small to make even 4 chicken nuggets . His Jaerhon genes should make him about 5 lbs at most. He's very curious and a good flier. Both of his breed backgrounds are known for being good, attentive roos. He's got his Aracauna father's comb and the Jaerhon coloring. Tuftless, rumpless, but a couple of stray feathers on his rump stump. He'll be interesting coloring as he grows up!:

Here's Loretta, our Naked Neck/Aracauna mix. Finger's crossed it's a she and won't crow. Her Naked Neck mama was buff and her Aracauna daddy was silver duckwing. She's rumpless, tuftless, has slate legs, and is naked where you'd expect. Not sure where the white feathers are coming from. She purrs/chortles when you 'pet' her. I'm hoping she's as people-interested as her Naked Neck mama is!:

Wow, have they grown! I can't believe your little guy was crowing at 2 weeks! I've never heard of one crowing that soon. Technically, he is considered partially rumpless due to the few random tail feathers.

Thanks! 'Paritally' rumpless it is! I had no idea what terminology to use.

It was a really pitiful 'crow' he had at two weeks of age, but you know the sound--the one that is not the baby cheeping they've been doing and kinda sounds sort of like a screech. Yep, THAT's the one! That's the sound that tells you it's a boy!

How about the white feathers on the other one. Would you have expected that color given the parents?

No, I wouldn't have expected white from buff and SDW.. BUT... I'm not sure how the buff gene works quite honestly.

I got a white chick from my Birchen cock and BBR hen. I KNOW it came from the BBR's egg; I am 100% positive on that. According to the breeder I got my flock from she said it is a splash chick, and it came from my two blues. It did not, but I'm just going to let it go and quit racking my brain trying to figure it out. I keep a very detailed log of who lays what, date the egg was laid, how many of which pair go under a hen, and without a doubt my little whitey came from the BBR hen's egg. Oh well!

MJ is still looking good. Ratchet's chick (I think he's 5 1/2 weeks) has the most mottling so far. I have a nice double tufted mottled chick from the clean faced hen's hatch a week and a half ago that looks promising.
