Free Ranging
Well, I emailed Ann Horsman this morning to find out what she had coming up, and so that she knows I'm still very interested. We'll see.

The coloring is so unique. One of it's siblings. There's another one just like it also, same hatch, in the background.

My little single tufted splash chick from the clean faced black hen's hatch was attacked this morning. I have a strong suspicion Lucy, the BBR hen, is the culprit. She's been mean to all the chicks since day 1. Over the weekend I moved T'Pau and her chicks out to their own coop since it was getting crowded. Things were going smoother until this morning. She (Lucy) sliced open the back of the splash chick's neck. I found it huddled in the corner and saw blood around it's neck. I brought him/her in and cleaned it real good. I'm going to have to partition them off tonight which means they won't get access to the outside. I hate that but I don't know what else to do. Isolating Lucy would take a toll on Triton and I don't want him taking it out on the hen and chicks. I hope the chick makes it.
I know, I've stressed myself into a migraine over this.

That probably won't be much longer. Fall is moving in quick... too quick. We're on our second week of below average temps.
I want the weather to get cooler. Ann emailed me back and said she wants cooler than the 90s she's still getting to mail chicks. UGH!
Interaction between eb/e+(or e+/e+) Melanotic(Ml), Pg(Pattern Gene) both found in Self Black birds(as Melanotic is required for full black phenotype and Melanotic is often linked to Pg and Pg) the Tripple tufted rooster is oviously E/e+ or E/eb with Ml/Ml, Pg/Pg making him solid black lookingThe coloring is so unique.
