Araucana thread anyone?

She has nice tufts! My goofy birds pulled all theirs out.

I know, Bunny has the best tufts. They were so heavy as a chick, they sagged like she was an old lady. That pair is the one I've got hopes on for pretty babies

1st pullet egg for 2023 from one of my black Ameraucanas. Next few days is to investigate who laid it. Have you seen prices of eggs? Right now, they're limiting quantity of eggs allowed to be purchased at the grocery store in California. They passed a dumb rule a few years back (state ballot) requiring larger cages/room for commercial poultry egg houses. This includes out of state imported eggs as well. If they don't meet the dimensions, they can't ship into CA.

Hoping for a better 2023 year in acquiring Araucanas as well. I want to make some Arau-Ameraucana mixes = rumpless Ameraucanas. Think it would be a fun project.

Can I ask what the point of a rumpless Ameraucana is? Legitimately, I'm probably missing something obvious right now, but why would you combine the two?
