hi there i have 1 lavender araucana it is 3weeks old at the moment i will try and post pictures later if s/he will sit still long enuough for me to take pic
I have 3 babies out of 20 that take naps alot it seems. They play with the others, eat well, drink water. It seems that they nap alot. I was out sitting watching them play today and I look over and the 3 of them are sleeping. The others take naps too, but these 3 love their naps. If you pic them up they squak, look at you then go right back to sleep. They are growing just fine. Same size as the others. One is feathering slower than the others but still getting its feathers. 1 is 8 weeks, 1 is 10 weeks, and 1 is 3 months.
I'm not posting more photos because I'm awaiting the day I find my USB stick.
I do have more photos and more girls to show off though.
As for the chicks thing, who knows. . . My Marans cockerels are usually noteable even before their combs get big because they're very laid back, lazy, and often sleepy.
Zephyr, she's my little shadow, always begging me to pic up stones and boards for her to catch the earth worms.
A proper araucana butt
My oldest cock, Matisse, catching some autumn rays. He's so relaxed because he is King here.
His sister, she is in molt and very crabby to everyone but him. Oddly, he never mates her or his other sister.
Some of the new crop, poor bedraggled things right now but happy.
This peep looked like it would never grow out of it's down, she looks funny but is cute as a button. She looks like a silver duckwing and has already sold, she will go to her new home in a few weeks.
One of my nice blues from the first hatch of the year
Actually, Minnie hasn't been picked on, she just took forever to begin to sprout feathers. The bedraggled peeps still squirm under their mother and always look like hash.
