Araucana thread anyone?

Wow, lots of great Araucana photos! Nivtup, that first hen is incredible. She is one of the most intriguing Araucanas I think I have ever seen. It's amazing how much depth there is to her color and how clean the color is in each section. I am very, very taken with that bird. Did you breed her? Your other birds are beautiful also! Lovely flock.

Illia,

I really appreciate your input but are you sure these two are splash? I've never seen any with lacing on each feather like these. here's some closer pics of those two.

To me this one looks to be solid white except for the dark gray lacing on the tip of each feather.

To me this one looks the same except she has light gray lacing on each feather and her hackle feathers are darker.

These two did not come out of my BBS trio, I got these from Ann Charles.

I sorted my breeder pens according to "tufts and no tufts" to get the most Standard colors. I guess that's not going to work. I have a bunch of white cf/r hens and my white cock is cf/r. So how am I suppose to get tufted white ones? All of my White Araucanas come from Ann Charles.

Thanks for everyones help,
Nate

Look what I found today

Someone on craigslist, in my area no less, was selling out the whole flock. There were more but not nearly as nice as these guys. Several had partial tails and clean faced but they were very nice built, solid birds and a couple have awesome tufts. I Love the red hen, she's sort of a brown/red so I'm not sure what genes I'm working with. The rooster is awesome too, he's young so I expect he will mature really nice. There are 2 nice tan with blue that I figure are something like the blue breasted red? The white rooster, well, I would have loved him to have tufts, but he will get Fawn and Snow White to make a white trio. I figure the pretty tan/blue girls will go to Joker, one of them has small tufts. The new rooster will get Slinky and the new brown hen. The new black hen will have 3 other black pullets with her and I may keep looking for a black rooster but Rudy and Degas can share those girls, the tufted ones (2) with Rudy and the clean faced ones (2) with Degas. LuvDove and Spot like each other already so they're paired.

Sounds good if I can get some smaller breeding pens set up by spring

Otherwise, I have 2 large coops so we'll see how things go.
I currently have 2 young cockerels that are bilaterally tufted and rumpless and one that is tufted with partial tail for sale. Spot, my tufted/rumpless splash rooster may go later, after I've test bred him to see how he produces.

I don't have them named yet but will soon

I think I have one similar to yours.I got her from the same source but she is very young.

If not splash, they're white masking over cuckoo, but trust me, that's Cuckoo patterning. My splash cuckoo girl looks identical to your "whites"

Notice the light blue lacing on the neck and head, notice each feather is tipped with a light blue coloration. That "lacing" and tipped coloration is the cuckoo coming in.
