I can't wait until tomorrow! The araucana eggs I am getting from Lanae should arrive! Seems like 21 days is waaaay too long to wait

I also got some araucana eggs from an eBay seller . They had 100% feedback and quite a few egg sales, so it seemed OK. Time will tell if the eggs hatch. Sent quite a few extras, and all were intact. I wish I could have completed my incubator with some from Illia, but I was silly and got turkey eggs to fill in the rest of the space before I knew if any were available, doh!

Your chick is precious . I bought 4, sadly one passed away. Love the ones we have, they seem to be nicer than other chicks.

Stacy, let me know when they arrive and the condition they are in. I hope you have an excellant hatch.

Jodi, that is a beautiful chick.

ducklover 1, I usually have chicks available and I ship. I know that Gary Ramey has chicks he sells also, his email is [email protected] , Several other people have chicks and ship also.

Thanks! I thought it was an adorable little one, so figured I'd share the pic with you all. The chick actually just hatched yesterday. I'll try to post some more pics of the others tomorrow. So great to see so much interest in this wonderful breed.

how soon do cockerels crow? my oldest batch is 7 weeks old? there abouts... there are marans with them but they are more like 1 month if that. yesterday i heard a strangled squeak then a few minutes late another, took me a minute to realize that was an attempt at a crow! then this morning again i hear it, and another slightly more robust but still pitiful crow. so now i have 2 doing it.... isn't this a bit young? I can't catch them in the act so i'm not even sure which are doing it!

Here is an updated picture of one of my 2 red looking chicks. Still not sure what the color is. I hesitate to call them red because there is some pattern there and one has some blue so possibly a blue breasted red pullet with a lot of red? One is clean faced and one has a single nice tuft. I would be interested in trading the clean faced for a clean faced black pullet or a red cockerel like her... and I would like to wait till I can be more certain they are pullets so there is no rush since they're too young to ship anyway. They are nearly identical and the only way I can tell them apart is the tuft. I'd really like to swap with someone interested in working with the red and buff colors and I expect I may have more hatch.

You can see Lucy in the back to see the comparison of depth of the red color.
