Araucana thread anyone?

Maximus,
Yes and no,

The standard requires they be rumpless (tail-less). However, there are tailed, partially tailed and some with a few tail feathers but no real tail that are hatched. They are not correct but they are purebred. It's kind of like the standard calls for tufts, yet there are not a lot of chicks hatched that are tufted but the clean faced are often used in the breeding pen.

My new double tufted/rumpless white rooster arrived today. My husband picked him up at the post office and took care of him all day since I worked today. He works for himself so his schedule is flexible. I carried him around all evening and he's going to have some quarantine time before he gets to swap spots with Casper. Thank you Ann!

My goodness - it's cuteness overload! So much lavender - it's simply wonderful.

You are making such great headway with your Araucanas - it is a privilege to be able to watch the progress. A true encouragement. Thanks.

What an amazing, outrageous miracle it is! Congratulations.

Definitely a miracle every time an egg hatches! The hatch is going very well, with five total hatched (three from Lanae, two from an eBay seller) with plenty more pipped. When they zip, they zip fast! I missed a few hatching since I had to go into town for an hour, but the others I should be here for

At least two have tufts, which are exciting and adorable! When they are fully fluffed it will be easier to tell if any of the others have them too. Fourteen araucana eggs total made it this far (ten were yours, four were from an eBay seller). Nine have hatched, the rest have pips
