Thanks! Sadly some tuft jealousy occurred and they aren't nearly as glorious now. Seems like that happens to everyone who has a bird with great tufts?
My personal "favorite" episode of tuft destruction was when my magnificently dbl tufted bantam rooster, who was free ranging, spent the morning shoving his face between the chicken wire into the Marans breeding pen. I would go out to find the little Araucana boy, totally unable to do any damage through the fence, being picked at and pecked at and horribly flogged by the Marans flock, all of whom are enormous compared to him. Of course, his tufts were completely removed by the time I got out there the first time. He had been so proud of those things too, but just had to stick his scrawny little neck in and taunt the big guys; Sometimes they can be such idiots.
