Araucana thread anyone?

Kass, I feel for you!
Stacey, I get attached after hand raising them, teaching them to eat, playing with them. It's easier for my piece of mind to just give them a yard of their own with some girls. It's 1 in 100 they'll get any kind of good long term home on Craigslist. I'm good at other things, just not easily placing baby chickers. I did place 1 of the Splash boys with someone local that I hear from.
Debi, it's white with gray streaks around the Buff's neck, an odd color. The "Splash" is the one that I think is so cool colored. He's got gray, brown and black specks throughout his feathers. And on the blacks they've got the prettiest green and purple sheen on their feathers. I love my boys. I actually ended up more attached to the boys than the 2 girls

One of the two that look like this. this is the clean faced one and the other is a double tufted. Is this a Gold Duckwing pullet?

Quite a few of them were like this until i came home from the second trip to the U.P. in sept. When i got home most were plucked. My neighbor always takes care of the animals when i am gone but this time when i got back feed dishes were almost empty and not a drop of water in any dish. I sure wish my kids lived close enough to come do my chores.

This would have been one of the ones that i would have show if i was showing up at birchrun this weekend. We r going in a little while but not taking anything. I'm hoping there will be some araucanas there.

The two that you asked about color appear to be black breasted reds. In one of the pictures I think I see a silver duckwing also.

Of the 6 or 7 roos, I believe that i got 2 for sure that are BBR, 1 or 2 that may be birchen, 1 that is golden duckwing and a couple of blacks that i don't know what they will turn out to be. Of the 3 pullets i have left, I have 1 silver duckwing and 2 golds. Ialso have a blue that i am hoping is a hen. I'll post pics later and everyone can tell me their opinion.
I lost 2 black pullets, a blue pullet and a silver duckwing.

So out of 15 chicks from Stacy and the eggs that i hatched from her, i got 6 roos, 8 pullets and 1 I'm still not sure of. Its black, tailed and has the biggest tufts of everyone. If its a roo. I'm not keeping it. If its a hen, its going to be hard deciding what to do with it as i need some black hens and don't have any.

Here is one of the cockerels I kept back from spring hatching. I decided to sell him though and he may be going to an older couple that I got started with chicks last year. If they don't buy him, I'll offer him for sale. He's a Nice heavy boy. Double tufted and rumpless, the left tuft is large too, just been plucked out and will grow back. Somewhere in there is duckwing, blue and some other stuff. His legs are yellow so not right for duckwing or most other varieties but I think he's just pretty cool and I'll probably wish I hadn't sold him, lol, as I usually do but more projects than I have time or space for.










Some good, clean faced/rumpless silver duckwing hens with willow legs would be a great cross for him and keep the more correct duckwing chicks.
