there small, run on 12v and heat up really quick.

THat looks like it would be really awesome with a small fan attached. Maybe even one of the micro PC fans like you find on a video card. It would serve two purposes, disperse heat better and create air flow. You could switch off power to the heat when the desired temp is reached but leave the fans circulating.
