Are 6 week old chicks "rowdy"??

That is why my babies who will be 6 weeks old on Tuesday got kicked out to the coop a week ago. The brooder was in my loft and we couldnt hear the tv downstairs frot the racket they made!

I am unsure of the age of our little ones..but by reading everyones post..I am guessing they are about 5-6 weeks old(they were rescued..found in a box in the trash so not sure of age...breed) We made them a home out of 2- 45 gallon tubs..combined them both with perches and a nesting box...they love it but escape everytime we open the top. They are rowdy..loud and know when it is their out time..they go crazy! I live in Maine so the weather is still chilly..we removed the heating source 2 days ago...they were never sleeping under it anymore and sleep near the opening towards the pellett stove. I want to bring them outside to their coop..but know it needs to warm up a bit. Rowdy just does not cover it...scratching..chest bumping..mosh pit..it is crazy in there! So much fun to watch though!!

Depends on the breed.

The Giants and Orphs here, ho hum. We'll wander the brooder, hop on a roost, la de da de da....

The BR girls when they came home (why did we get them again.....), har har har. The same brooder that'd kept countless other chicks was a joke. Pop up and over and run around snickering at the stupid humans. Gave up and threw them in the coop with the Orphs at 4 weeks because they were hell bent to get out, but couldn't get back in and got cold, and we almost lost 2 of them that way. With the Orphs, no problems with any of them, and Mommas tried to teach a few manners.

Can't say the BRs learned ANY polite chicken manners, but oh well, they lived and they lay pretty eggs.
