Are all my Eggs BAD? Help!!!! (Pics)

If it isn't leaking, why not? Worth a shot.

I will leave them all in and candle again on day 10. If they are in fact infertile....Should I ask for them to be replaced? I am not sure how to approach the seller. I hate to accuse him of selling me infertle eggs even if its true.....I drove 45 mins for these eggs and paid $42.

It is really hard to tell if eggs that are shipped are infertile, so I tend to side with the seller. I am not a seller myself, however I understand their pain. The post office is not kind to boxes of eggs at all.

However, since you drove to get them, the po is not involved. There are better ways of approaching a seller than saying they were infertile. I would just say there was a problem with the hatch and only XX hatched out of the XX I bought and that is not what I expected.

I know you are ticked at me from last night, but I am only trying to help you out. I really respect a seller that offers replacement eggs for the price of shipping too. It is only right if nothing hatches.

I am not ticked at you. I just figured you were super opinionated. These eggs were not shipped. So you are right that to PO was no involved. I will wait until day 7-10 before making any type of complaint. I will think of a way to word it. I will give these eggs every benifit of the doubt until then. All of their chickens seemed to be free range for the most part but if that is the case, how can you know if they are in fact fertile?

The only way I know to check fertility is to crack the egg and look for a bullseye. That is what I have been doing with OEG's. They just started to be fertile. I am aware you do NOT want to crack them open and look for a bullseye. However, since you picked them up, if you have a really terrible hatch rate, I would have to say infertility is the issue.

On the other side of it, sometimes a seller does not realize that new layers produce infertile eggs.....

I am not super opinionated. Just passing along information gathered along the chicken raising path. I am fairly blunt and truthful. Sometimes that ticks people off.

I can see how you might tick people off but I'm fine with it. Actually, we are very similar. I am going to give the seller the benefit of the doubt until day 10. As of right now I do not have a good feeling about these eggs :-(

I don't blame you. They don't look good.

I wrote the seller and mentioned what I am experiencing and said I would update him on day 10 and if they were not fertle, Could I have more eggs. This is what he said. He wrote back really fast....

I assure you those eggs are fertile. As you saw when you picked up your eggs from my hatching room, I'm hatching about 400 chicks a week. If I had a fertility problem, I would know about it. The Marans, Welsummer and Ameraucana eggs are all too thick shelled and pigmented to rely on candling

Sounds to me like he thinks he knows everything. No shell is too thick for candling unless it is an Emu egg. That response ticks me off. Not only is that not true but misleading to boot!!! I candle my ameraucanas all the time with no issues!!!

Good thing I didn't buy from him. Maran eggs are dark, yes, but with a good candler you can see inside. That guy is full of POOP!!!

Yeah, I get the feeling he is going to be a Jerk about it either way. Hmmmmmm. I guess only time will tell and Thank God I paid with a check.

Plus...I did not see 400 chicks when I was there maybe 100. And non were the breeds that I bought either.

that guy is full of himself. Note to you: Never buy from him again. I can send you eggs from across the country and you will have a better hatch rate. What a JERK!!! ARGH!!! I am sooo mad for you!!
