Pure plymouth rock yes, be it white or barred, they also all lay brown eggs. The rock x cornish dont

I have White rocks and they do great. Started at 18 weeks and have been going strong since. The bonus is that they are really dual birds- very nice, meaty birds as well.

Whites and Barreds have had more development and lay a slight bit better than the other colors but I've been happy with my Partridge Rocks as well.

I've added blues and blacks this year, so we'll see once they begin to lay.

Colors that have been predominently show birds - like columbian, silver pencilled tend to lay less well but can be worked up.

Thanks. I was mainly wondering about buff and silver pincilled. I'm planning on getting som SP this fall.

I've thought about getting some Black Rocks becuse there is a town called Black Rock not too far from me. When I tried searching for them though all I ever found were black sex links that people were calling black rocks.

I have had barred, a white and a couple of partridges. All great layers.
