Just recently bought a young pair of standard Dark Brahmas(8-9 weeks). The person I bought from said I need to keep them off the ground, preferably on wire until they are closer to their mature age, other wise they would likely get worms. Any thoughts on this? Is it true? I would much rather see them with other chicks who are the same age then by themselves on wire.

Thanks!

Never heard anything like that. Sometimes when there's a lot of coccidiosis in your soil it's recommended to raise poultry on wire, but that often goes hand and hand with crowded dirty conditions. Healthy birds kept in healthy conditions won't generally have worm problems.
