Are chicks at your store yet?

Murdoch's Farm and Supply here in Montrose starts to get them in TOMAROW! I'll probably get a couple... DH loves our BO and thinks we need a couple more, no complaints here she's a sweetie and lays nice XL eggs. Might have to get an Australorp too.
That will replace my old white rocks and the old welle I have to cull soon as it stops snowing... she's developed a hard growth on her head that's starting to stretch her eyelids.

My feed store will sell you 1 chick. Doesn't make sense to sell minimums to me.

My part of Florida typically gets their first chicks in about the first week of February and stops sometimes in mid to late March though some will have unsold stock for longer.

.....Alan.

I asked TSC today when I went to get food... they are getting theirs on March 14th. The local feed store is getting theirs the week before Easter. So I guess I will go in and stock up on feed a few days before they arrive since I have been banned from any place that sells living, breathing, temptations (aka chicks LOL).

Our feed store wasn't expecting them for another month at least, but they shipped early, so they came in last week. I wasn't quite ready to get them yet, but what the heck, I went ahead and picked them up anyway. Now I need to get my coop built in a hurry before they are ready to go out!

Our TSC is getting theirs next month. I hate it, but I can't avoid the place. Its the only place here where we get all our chicken feed, dog food, horse feed and supplys for them all. I'll just have to hope my husband is with me. If he says no, then no it is. (Thank goodness for him)!

I got Serena (my danish brown leghorn) from Round Up in Bakersfield, Ca. I got Onyxia (my CM/BLR Wyandotte cross) from a local Honey/Egg/Chicken Farm/Hatchery on Taft Highway in Bakersfield, Ca. Both will sell 1 chick thankfully. I spoke to the girl at Round Up today and they said they will probabaly be getting some Silkies in next month!

Farm and Home has had them for two weeks. This year they are really pushing the pre-order though. I know last year they were getting in 50-100 chicks a week in. TCS only keeps them in for a couple of weeks around Easter, and only give a choice between white rocks and Barred rocks.
