Are comb sizes a good indication of sex?

I have 11 orpington chicks that are approx. 5 weeks old..
On some, the combs are almost nonexistance, and on others there are definatly combs...

I need to cut down on some of the chicks, but dont want to get rid of pullets...
 
That all depends on what you mean by "definately combs". How big and red are they, as pullets can have some comb growth although theirs should still be yellowish to only a pale pink. Bright red big combs and wattles may mean you have cockerals. Post a pic of a few of them and then we can see what you have.
