Are cowpeas/blackeye peas plants ok to feed chickens?

Darn! I just threw out three bags of beans. I was afraid the chickens could not eat them, but I did not compost them because the vacuum dog would have dug them up and eaten them!

Next time the beans get ahead of me the girls get them. now I know.
So it is just raw dried beans that they can not eat?
I figured better safe than sorry.
cheaper that way.

3goodeggs, I'm really glad I asked! And such knowledgeable answers - BYCers are the best! I think I've got it now - do not feed if they are fully dried, but as long as they're fresh, it's ok to feed the greens and young beans. I'm always looking for ways to grow the hen's feed myself and supplement, so I'm glad to know. Thanks so much for all your expertise.
