Are ducks ever NOT hungry?

My duck is very picky with what she eats but I figured out that she loves pedigree small dog food it gives her a lot of protein and helps her grow
My Duckies preferred cat kibbles are the house-brands from Kroger and Aldi.
Bought Meow-Mix once and they looked at me as if i tried to poison them...

My duck won't eat anything but dog food I tried giving her corn and pellets and when she pecks at it she starts violently shaking her head
Just dog-food? - Boy, that must be stinky poop!
When my Duckies eat too much protein, their diarrhea starts to smell so bad…

My Duckies have access to food and water 24x7 too. And they get up several times during the night to grab a bite and drink. Then they walk back into their bedrooms and continue to sleep. Like us humons raiding the fridge over night… ;)
If they run out of water overnight, boy there are angry quacks in the morning!
How do you keep them from splashing their water ALL OVER? I tried leaving water in my ducks barn a few times and it was gone with in minutes, splashed all over their bedding

We keep 24 pullets/hens plus 5 ducks together. We also keep 18 guinea fowl and 6 roosters separately. Both the hen/duck group and the guineas were spilling a lot of feed, and we were feeding 150+ lbs a week. I decided to switch the hens/ducks and guineas to Peck o matic on demand, toggle feeders. They were so expensive, but they’ve more than paid for themselves in a few months. It turns out that they were wasting a whole lot of feed, as I’m down to about 65 lb of feed a week now, more than a 50% reduction in feed!
