Are ear mites the same as...

The mites chx get on their bodies? Reason for asking is bc my pullet has been a little stumbly, I checked her for ext parasites and found lice (I think anyway , they are yellowish), and possibly mites bc I see some very small bugs moving around. Question being, if she has lice/mites on her body, could these same mites infest her ears as well?

If I understand correctly, lice are a lot more common on their body then mites. Simple regular dusty with garden powder (7 dust) should control lice. Mites are usually very small & red. They are harder to control than lice. Because they will often leave the host, and hide in corners and crevices in the pen. Permectrin is best for mites - dilute with water and spray the pen down after removing all the bedding. There are some dips available also.

I know that ear mites in cats & dogs are microscopic, you can only see black debris (which is their feces) in the ears.
