are gold laced wyandottes aggressive

We have 2 GLW & 2 SLW. I know a Golden is in the top slot, she raises an eyebrow & the others are out of there.

She's the only one that doesn't picked on from time to time. The # 2 slot is not quite so obvious but probably the other Golden. # 4 gets picked on the most but not unmercifully so, somebodies always gonna be at the top & bottom.

From what I understand, if you isolate her for a couple weeks she'll reenter the flock at the lower end of the pecking order. Seems to me though that doing so would just prolong the power struggle, an adjustment while she was away then again upon her return. Best to let them work it out! If she mean to people, there's always the BBQ.

My first chicks were GLW and I got them because I heard they were friendly. Mine were not. They did not want to be held or cuddled. Later I got a buff orp and she came up for treats and cuddles and was very happy to sit in my lap. I also had some SLW and they too were not very friendly. They were awesome chickens, good layers and good broodies. That was my experience. They might enjoy treats and be friendlier. I would sit and they would come up to me for treats just not to be petted and held.

I have 2 silver laced wyandottes and 18 weeks ago purchased 3 blue laced red wyandottes. What a difference between them! The silvers are at the top of the pecking order and peck at everyone that gets in their way. The 3 newby's are sweethearts and love to be held. I have yet to get any golden laced and am hesitant based on a few articles. They are supposed to be docile, but not in all cases! I guess you will find that in any breed.
In reference as to what to do? Keep an old widex bottle full of water handy and spritz her with the stream setting. She will back off every time she sees the bottle start spraying and run away from you. Good egg layers though and colorful!!

That's a good idea...thank you...ill try the spray bottle...I want to keep her...she adds color to the flock....what color are their eggs

Oh yes, my GLW is aggressive, but only to normal garden birds.
She drops right down to the ground and sneaks up behind them and then BANG! she has the poor bird dead on the floor; then sits and looks at it crowing and honking until I go out to see her 'present'.
I should rename her 'Deathwing'

Just to throw my two cents in, my GLW are also the most aggressive birds in my flock. I have six of them and all six will go after the other ten at any given time. A friend of mine has just one GLW and he says she is sweet as pie. I have some friends that just love the looks of them and want to take two home to start getting some eggs, but I have the feeling the other four are headed for the freezer.
