Are guinea fowl and or peafowl loud?

My guineas were very loud until about 8 months old. They have since calmed down a lot and are better at alerting of actual dangers instead of just the wind blowing funny or demons or whatever. There was a peacock in my neighborhood growing up (odd because I lived in Dallas city limits) and it was loud, though primarily in the morning and evening if I recall correctly. It did not seem to outgrow its loudness, and I don't know if it called so much because it did not have a mate.

Yes, though I would say mine are loudest in the evening when they go in for the night. When they are young, they tend to be loud most of the day, every day. Once one starts up, the others join in and its quite a raucous.

Right now I open my coop door between 5 and 530. Around 7, I let the guineas out of the run. Lately the first thing they do is jump on the deck railing and announce to the world that they are out and about. Egg laying happens between 10 and 1 and one of the hens is very loud on the nest for those few hours calling out what sounds like miserable labor pains.

If you live in a "neighborhood", you won't have guineas for long because complaints will be filed.

Guineafowl for all intents never shut up there is usually a constant murmur of noise being emitted by them, but when they alerting to danger or what not they turn up the volume even further and it can be deafening...

Peafowl have their moments especially during mating season, and it can be very loud even heard over a mile away if conditions are right and some people might actually confuse it as a child someone else screaming for "HELP!" resulting a visit from the po-po for some peafowl owners...

I don't know, mine are pretty quite. They go through cackling spurts and then of course alerts, but aren't overly loud most of the time now that they are grown.

Mine arent that loud either. Early morning when they wake and right before roost they are loudest. Other than that random alarms throughout the day that are usually short lived. Guess it depends on the flock and how many are in it.
