Hi from Central Cali, I have 3 Buff Orp hens that I got as chicks last October in 2024. I was raised around chickens, but never had my own, so I jumped into the fray. I look forward to learning as I make my way through year 2.

I have a bunch of grandkids and thought they would enjoy being around the chickens and learning more about them was one of the things that appealed to me. Of course, having a stream of healthy eggs was another bonus.

I found the site as I was trying to grow my insight and knowledge about chickens. I have one current concern that I will share in another thread. I look forward to learning from all the veteran chicken owners on this site!
 
Congrats on returning to the wonderful world of chickens and getting yours into their second year! Although you may still feel like a newbie, you've likely learned -- or remembered! -- more about chickens than you think.

This is a great community of folks who have plenty of experiences and wisdom to share; hopefully, someone will be able to help with your current concern.
